Dr. Amarendra Das is working as Reader-F in Economics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar.
Dr. Das has obtained MA in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar; MPhil and PhD. from the Centre for Development Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He started his teaching career from Utkal University in 2010.
He went on deputation to work in the Fourteenth Finance Commission of India, New Delhi as Deputy Director during July 2013 to October 2014.
He left Utkal University and joined NISER in December 2015.
He has won the prestigious Global Development Medal of Global Development Network in 2009.
Currently he is serving as the Secretary of Orissa Economics Association (OEA) and Executive Committee member of The Indian Econometric Society (TIES).
